Truck Mounted Carpet Cleaning VS Dry Cleaning Method
Truck Mounted Cleaning
What this means to you is that you are getting your carpet cleaned with a superior method. Truck mounted carpet cleaning (also known as hot water extraction, or steam cleaning) is recommended by Shaw Industries, which is a leading carpet manufacturer in the USA.
Think of it this way, when you wash anything else in your home, such as your laundry your body, or your hair. Do you not make sure to rinse the residue from them? Of course. The same is true of carpet. Truck mounted units are powered by a combustible engine, that offers superior pressure, heat and vacuum.
In comparison to a portable carpet cleaning machine that is brought inside your home. The truck mounted unit stays outside of your home and only has hoses to come into your home. The residue that comes from inside your home is then transferred to the vehicle outside.
Dry Cleaning Method
Could you imagine taking a soapy wash rag and washing your body, then waiting for it to dry on you, and thinking you are leaving your house clean? Try the same thing with your hair. Wool carpet is basically hair, and carpets mimic as close as they can get to the same thing.
This is the basic premise for dry cleaning methods. They apply a chemical or soap to your carpet, it is supposed to dry to a brit. Then after the carpet dries, you are suppose to vacuum it up and remove all of the dirt. Is it just me, or is that simply preparing the carpet so that after they leave you can clean the carpet.
This is the way that I learned over 19 years ago. I am sure that dry cleaning has made changes since that time, or would hope. However nothing is better than being able to remove the dirt by rinsing the carpet with hot water.
Shaws choice: Hot water extraction
Research indicates that the hot water extraction system provides the best capability for cleaning. This system is commonly referred to as "steam cleaning," although no steam is actually generated.
The process consists of applying a cleaning agent into the carpet pile and using water in the extractor to recover the used solution and soil. This can be done from a truck-mounted unit outside the home with only the hose and wand brought inside or by a portable system brought into the home.
Shaw warranties require that the homeowner be able to show proof of periodic cleaning by hot water extraction (commonly called "steam" cleaning) by a professional cleaning service or do-it-yourself system, using equipment that is certified under the Carpet and Rug Institute's Seal of Approval program.
